Apple Cider Vinegar in Glyco Reset: What the Blood Sugar Trials Found

Quick answer

Apple cider vinegar is the main active named for Glyco Reset, in an amount that is not published. In 7 trials of adults with type 2 diabetes, 13.75 to 30 mL a day for 4 to 12 weeks lowered fasting glucose by about 22 mg/dL, but most trials were low quality (Arjmandfard 2025 ACV meta-analysis (type 2 diabetes)). One whole Glyco Reset bottle is 60 mL of everything combined.

The basics

What is apple cider vinegar, and why is it in Glyco Reset?

Fermented apple juice. Its sour acid, acetic acid, is the part studied for blood sugar.

Many readers already keep a bottle by the stove for salad dressing. It is the only one of Glyco Reset's six named ingredients with human trials on blood sugar. Design B of the label says "Supports Healthy Glucose Utilization*"; the vinegar is what that claim leans on.

The research

Does apple cider vinegar lower blood sugar?

A little, in some studies, at tablespoon doses. The signal is real but modest, and the trials behind it are mostly small.

The three main reviews of vinegar and blood sugar, with what each found
ReviewWho and how muchWhat changedWhat did not
Type 2 diabetes, 2025 (Arjmandfard 2025 ACV meta-analysis (type 2 diabetes))7 trials, 463 adults; 13.75 to 30 mL a day for 4 to 12 weeksFasting glucose down 21.9 mg/dL (moderate certainty)Insulin resistance (HOMA-IR); the A1C drop of 1.53 was low certainty and very inconsistent
Mixed groups, 2021 (Hadi 2021 ACV meta-analysis)9 trials, 686 people; 15 to 770 mL a dayFasting glucose down 7.97 mg/dL; total cholesterol down 6.06 mg/dLInsulin, LDL, HDL; the A1C effect vanished in checks
With a meal, 2017 (Shishehbor 2017 vinegar meta-analysis (after meals))Short meal studiesSmaller rise in glucose (SMD -0.60) and insulin (SMD -1.30) after the mealLong-term effects not tested

The fine print: five of the seven diabetes trials were rated low quality, and five came from one country (Arjmandfard 2025 ACV meta-analysis (type 2 diabetes)). Only 3 of the 9 trials in the mixed review were blinded (Hadi 2021 ACV meta-analysis). A sour drink is hard to disguise.

Memorial Sloan Kettering's summary calls the glucose and weight findings "not conclusive" (MSKCC About Herbs: Apple cider vinegar).

Dose check

Not published. The bars show what the trials used, set against the only number we have: the bottle size.

Trial doses of apple cider vinegar come from a 2025 review of 7 trials (Arjmandfard 2025 ACV meta-analysis (type 2 diabetes)); pectin amounts from a food-standards review (FSANZ review: pectin and blood glucose). Glyco Reset publishes no amounts, so it cannot be placed on either chart except by its total bottle size.

One kitchen tablespoon is roughly the low trial dose for a day; two reach the high end. Four fill a whole Glyco Reset bottle, water, sugar and all.

Four weeks at the low trial dose is about 385 mL, more than six bottles of liquid. No plausible serving of drops gets near that. The Glyco Reset dosage guide explains why we print no drop count.

Weight claims

Does apple cider vinegar help with weight loss?

The study most often quoted for it no longer stands. It was retracted in September 2025.

A 2024 trial from Lebanon of about 120 people claimed losses of 6 to 8 kg with daily vinegar. The journal retracted it on September 23, 2025, because the analyses could not be replicated and multiple errors were found (Retraction Watch: ACV weight-loss study retracted). Researchers had already called the size of the effect implausible (NPR on the ACV retraction).

Older weight data are weak too (Launholt 2020 ACV safety review). The sales page's hidden meta text still sells weight loss; we do not repeat it as a benefit. Effortless weight loss is on the FTC's list of claims that are almost always false (FTC Gut Check (weight-loss claims)).

The weight approach with real proof is plainer. In the Diabetes Prevention Program, losing about 7% of body weight and walking 150 minutes a week cut type 2 risk by 58% (NIDDK: Diabetes Prevention Program).

Who should ask first

Is it safe to take apple cider vinegar every day?

Usually, in food amounts. Side effects at normal intakes seem uncommon (Launholt 2020 ACV safety review), but four groups should talk to a professional first.

Acid

Teeth, throat and reflux

Vinegar is an acid, and Glyco Reset adds citric acid. Case reports link heavy use to throat injury, and vinegar tablets have burned the esophagus (MSKCC About Herbs: Apple cider vinegar) (Hill 2005 ACV tablet products). Crowns, veneers, sensitive teeth or reflux: ask your dentist or doctor first.

Medicines

Insulin, sulfonylureas, water pills, digoxin

Vinegar may add to the glucose drop from insulin or glipizide (NIDDK: Low blood glucose). Heavy use has been tied to low potassium, which matters with diuretics and digoxin (MSKCC About Herbs: Apple cider vinegar). Never adjust a medicine yourself.

Type 1

Slow stomach emptying

In 10 people with type 1 diabetes and gastroparesis, 30 mL of vinegar slowed emptying further: 17% with vinegar, 27% without (Hlebowicz 2007 ACV and gastroparesis). That can throw off insulin timing.

Raw vinegar

Pasteurization not stated

Raw, unpasteurized vinegar has been linked to E. coli and Cryptosporidium outbreaks (MSKCC About Herbs: Apple cider vinegar). Whether Glyco Reset's vinegar is pasteurized is not published.

Kitchen or dropper

Is Glyco Reset better than plain apple cider vinegar?

Different, not better. Plain vinegar wins on known dose; the drops win on taste and convenience, if those matter to you.

With a kitchen bottle you measure the dose by the spoonful, with no added sugar, the way the trials did. Glyco Reset trades that for a sweetened dropper. Some people find drops easier to take. Just know they cannot match the trials, and sugar comes along.

Before you start

What should you ask before adding vinegar drops?

  • Ask the order desk how many mL of vinegar one serving holds, and how much cane sugar.
  • Ask your doctor whether vinegar fits with your diabetes medicine.
  • Already taking kitchen vinegar? Ask whether adding drops makes sense, or just doubles up.

The other two profiled ingredients, apple pectin and pure cane sugar, are a click away below.

FAQ

Apple cider vinegar in Glyco Reset: FAQ

How much apple cider vinegar is in Glyco Reset?

The amount is not published in any photo, brand graphic or on the sales page. What we know is the bottle size: 60 mL in total, about four tablespoons, shared with water, sugar, pectin and two citrates. The diabetes trials used 13.75 to 30 mL of vinegar every day.

Does apple cider vinegar lower A1C?

The evidence is shaky. One review found a 1.53 drop in people with type 2 diabetes, but rated it low certainty and very inconsistent. Another review's A1C effect disappeared when weaker studies were removed. No study has measured A1C with Glyco Reset itself.

Is apple cider vinegar good for type 2 diabetes?

It may lower fasting glucose modestly, about 22 mg/dL in a review of 7 small trials using 1 to 2 tablespoons a day. Most trials were low quality. It does not replace diabetes care, and NIH says no supplement has been shown to manage type 2 diabetes.

Can apple cider vinegar damage your teeth?

It can, because it is an acid. Frequent or undiluted vinegar can wear enamel, and Glyco Reset also contains citric acid. Take acidic drinks with food, rinse with plain water afterwards, and ask your dentist first if you have crowns, veneers or sensitive teeth.

Can I take apple cider vinegar with metformin?

Ask your doctor first. The bigger concern is insulin or a sulfonylurea such as glipizide, which vinegar may add to. Keep taking every medicine as prescribed and keep up your usual glucose checks.

Is the apple cider vinegar in Glyco Reset raw or with the mother?

Not published. No source says whether the vinegar is raw, filtered or pasteurized. That matters because raw, unpasteurized vinegar has been linked to E. coli and Cryptosporidium outbreaks. Ask the order desk if it is important to you.
